A city continuously rebuilt, a never-ending work in progress, true phoenix in the sands, born again from its ashes (we remember the headlines of abandoned sports cars in the airport at the beginning of the crisis), it will soon host the Universal Exposition of 2020. City of hubris by excellence where everything has to be at the height of its excessiveness: the world’s highest skyscraper (Burj Khalifa, 828 meters), the only 7-star hotel in the world (the Burj-al-Arab), the world’s largest shopping mall (the Dubai Mall, 1.124 million m2), the world’s largest aquarium acrylic panel (32.88 m wide, 8.3 m high and wheighing 245 tons, at the Dubai Mall)… Everything is in keeping with this.
